There’s a new bird in town, and its name is Pico. Coming from the mystic depths of
the Guatemalan mountains and its lush forests, this strange and striking entity is on
a mission to explore Guatemala – what will it uncover?
Anima502 is a cultural project that aims to create a platform and channel for
discourse and reflection in Guatemala about Guatemala. Through the daily
adventures of Pico and the other Anima, the project seeks to explore, discuss,
interrogate, and better understand what Guatemala and its vast and storied
cultures, ways of life, and expressions of identity mean to us as a nation and as a
people.
What is Guatemala to you? What does it mean to be Guatemalan? Who or what
defines it? What unifies us? Why aren’t we as unified as we could be? Why do this
type of questions matter in the first place? These are some of the questions that
Anima502 seeks to ask.
