Presentation of Incienso

On February 17th at Ezenario Histórico in La Antigua, the Qué Pasa team presented its guide to Lent and Holy Week, Incienso. The event was attended by members of the press, various television stations, and special guests who learned more about this project whose goal is to promote the celebrations of Lent in La Antigua to the world.

Incienso - Double Spread 02

La Antigua Guatemala is recognized worldwide as the most important site in the Americas for the celebration of passion and faith that is known as Lent and Holy Week.

This time of year, with its amazing demonstrations of devotion, attracts many visitors – both Guatemalans and foreigners – who seek the opportunity to be part of the customs and traditions of La Antigua.

Scott Stanton, Que Pasa‘s Publisher, stated that Incienso is a visual presentation of the customs, traditions, and events that are part of the wealth of Guatemalan culture.

In addition to the magazine itself, Cécile Sanlés, Incienso‘s illustrator and webmanager, presented the website that accompanies the printed magazine: semanasanta.gt. The website has much more content – including photos and videos – plus a daily calendar of events that are being held. Mika Rakol, Incienso‘s creative director, also presented the mobile app (for Android and Apple) that features information updated daily about everything happening during Lent and Holy Week.

The project’s main idea is to motivate everyone to rediscover Lent – an ideal time for learning more about the country’s culture, with a more leisurely pace than Holy Week – and to take advantage of fewer crowds and more readily attained accommodations.

Incienso is the guide that will help you learn all about these options, and it’s an invitation to come and experience Lent in Antigua. In Incienso you’ll find information about the best accommodations, food, services, products, entertainment, and shopping – everything you need to know in order to make your visit everything you expect and more.

La Antigua – and the Qué Pasa team – welcomes you and invites you to learn more about the traditions and customs that make it unique.

    Respetuosamente,
    Axel Pérez González
