Cambray Tamalitos

Tamale is a meal with pre-Columbian roots; its main ingredient is corn. The cambray tamalito is not as common as it was before, but it has not stopped being an important part of the Guatemalan gastronomy. In June it is popular to see in the villages, for Corpus Christi, make these colorful and sweet tamales, perfumed with anise. You can find them stuffed with meat or without filling. And if you dare to prepare them, you can find various Guatemalan recipes for their elaboration; but in June you have the opportunity to visit a church and find them there.
